In the 1990's a friend had a "SmallProg" EPROM programmer for the Amiga. It was supposed to be able to program 2764 (the non-CMOS version, that is programmed at IIRC 21V).
However the boost converted didn't supply enough voltage to the circuit that switches the PGM voltage. We ended ut using +12V from the computer (not available on the port the EPROM programmer used for communication) and a 12V lead acid motorcycle/UPS style battery in series, that we fed into the EPROM programmer. Worked perfectly

Speaking of EPROM progammers, if you are able to read a bit Swedish, perhaps using a translation service, there is a recent thread here called PROMel (IIRC?) where a member designs and builds an EPROM programmer from scratch. IIRC it can do all the normal voltages.
