Dear Swedes,
Sorry for writing in English, my Swedish is a bit rusty.
I own and induction cooktop Kuppersbusch EKI 848.0 which has internal components almost identical to Electrolux EHD7660P.
The unit tripped a breaker and would not turn on.
I've opened the unit and found one varistor (SV275K20) on the power supply board had burst.
I've tested the IGBT and rectifiers per the instructions on this thread and they are OK.
For testing I've removed the burned out varistor and the unit turns on and seems to be working (tested all elements but only one element at a time).
I have a similar varistor but smaller - TVR 14431 - datasheet for original and the one I have here.
I couldn't find a larger 20mm varistor in my local electronic component store.
Can I use one TVR 14431 instead? Maybe I put two TVR 14431 in parallel instead of the bad one?
Any ideas of why the varistor burned out? It happened when I turned on one burner.
My unit like the electrolux in the following picture has fuse holders on the power board but no fuses.
Is this normal?
Any other help would also be appreciated.
